Creativity

The maximum time we spend is in our schooling starting right from age three to twenty or twenty two. This is the largest amount of time we spend anywhere in our life. Ultimately it is said that we are just made to remember the facts. There is no time to think original ideas. It is said that “Whatever is left after we forget our schooling is education. But in the first case why we are to filter everything, even the “Chaiwala” knows what he is to filter. Then we complain that our education system is not churning out more entrepreneurs, artists, and thought leaders. Only it creates is good doctors and engineers or in and case good graduates.
The fact that school teaches 7 subjects + homework + burden of tuitions and expectations to score well. Any student hardly gets any time to think, leave aside to question anything new. That is with clever students. But how is to take away that candy or favourite TV program away from lazy bones.
In this age of fast communications copying has become very easy, so why bother to create anything new. The school provides good library and good gaming facilities. That’s fine but still library is as vivid as world and sports here means just cricket. So the train of thoughts never starts. It just decays.
What the schools need is a good lab. I mean it is just a big room with all tools for manual work, computers, printers, board etc plus the permission to bring in anything new or to create new projects which are sellable. I mean by which the students can explain the potential of why the hell they are doing what they are doing?
Then and then only we can have thought engines who will lead the world, they maybe good sportsman, advocates, managers and even doctors and engineers and what-not, the time has come to coin in new terms for such people and talents which never existed before. We have called even Munnabhai a doctor and a teacher who taught us gandhian way. So guys time to think.
