Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri
A very nice and sensible collection
of short stories wherein we really and logically know the end but the delivery
is totally awesome. It is very simple and down to earth and so very powerful
stories wherein day today life is woven in the inseparable form.
Though the title is given because it
is one of the stories of the collection my personal favourites are Sexy and The treatment of Bibi Halder.
The later one is more dramatic but the first one is full of unfulfilled desires
which get fulfilled without any attachments.
Really
nice book and very worth reading to study the psychology of the common people
and the their stories and the overall problems they face and their little joys.
